Hurumanu 5

Light boxes.
We have set up a light box. The light box takes a 12v battery to work. All the light box does is project light. The light bulb inside gets turned on. We have different things that we cun put into slots that make the light get projected different.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aim: To investigate how light is affected by changing the substance it is travelling through.
Equipment: Ray box, power source, flass or perspex block, single slit ray slide.

Angle of incidence 10 angle of refractation is 8
Angle of incidence 20 of refraction is 15
Angle of incidence 30 of refraction is 20
Angle of incidence 40 of refraction is 20
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Wednesday 1st July
Aim: To investigate how different types of lenses refract light.
Equipment: Triple-slit ray slide, Power supply, a concave lens and a convex lens.
Method:
1 set up a ray box, triple-slit ray slide and power supply.
2: Place he convex lens in thew space below. Place the ray box at the top of the page and shine the three rays of light at the lens. make sure the central light ray hits the lens at 90 degrees as indicated in the diagram.
3: Carefully trace the direction of the incoming and refracted rays.
4: Repeat using thre concave lens.

Table tennis & Juggling

For the past 3 weeks for P.E we have been working on our juggiling skills and playing table tennis.
I have really been working on table tennis. The table tennis balls are very light so just a light tap is enough to move it across the table. I always get close to winning and sometimes do win. We play first to 11. Its diffucult to hit the ball at just the right force so it doesn't go off the table so it goes to your opponent.

I worked a bit on my juggling as well. It was very hard. 2 objects with 1 hand was doable for me but doing 3 with 2 hands was extremly hard. I managed to do it for 2 or 3 seconds and then couldn't do it again. Trying to start and find the easiest way to do the juggiling was hard. The hand eye coordination was the hardest part of it but the most fun to do. Trying to watch where the balls are and moving your hands to the right spot to throw them back up again felt almost impossible to do. Doing it for a few seconds felt accomplishing to me.

I really enjoyed both table tennis and the juggling despite how hard they were. If given the chance to do either again I would really consider doing it.
