The marketing mix (Promotion)

This is my understanding and learning around the promotion of products using the marketing mix.

We have no competition so we have no need to make ours sound better then others.

For market day our promotion will be a big part in bringing in customers. We have created massive poster for out stand and smaller posters around the school along with an online poster. We don't have a main target however our product will be most used among those who use public transport or are an essential worker.

For those that have no time to look at social media it is posted around school and on the day our stand will have a massive colourful poster to show our product. As we have no real way of showing our location on posters around the school or online we made our massive poster very bright and obvious.

Our product makes life slightly easier. By making it so you no longer have to reach into your pocket for your mask. Our promotion poster mainly show product and price of what we are selling. It has no information about where in school we will sell this because we are currently unsure.

Our digital promtional slide:

Hand descritpion. (Science)

For science we started creating hands. We used a hand cutout and straws to make it. We then put string through the straws to make it so we can move the fingers. We used 3 different cut straws to replicate each bone in the finger.

Definitions of different parts of the hand.

Joints - An area where 2 bones connect. There are 3 main types of joints. The synovial, cartilaginous and the fibrous.

Bone - Each finger has 3 bones. The thumb has 2 bones. The hand has 5 seperate bones for each finger. Bone is a strong material that protects and gives structure to the body.

Ligaments - The ligaments are fibrous connective tissue that connect bones together.

Muscles - The muscles control the movements of your arm and fingers. To move our arms and different parts 1 bone must contract or relax. They produce force and motion. 2

Tendons - Tendons are a fibrous tissues between each bone so that the bones dont rub againist each other and destorying each other.

Cartilage - The cartilage is a tissue that provides support for bone movements and provides some protection against impacts.

Hurumanu 1 work.

5/11/20

I have been writing an SA about overpopulation. Here it is:

Overpopulation

Overpopulation is a problem throughout the world. There many issues under the problem of overpopulation. We require a solution to this problem and we need it quick. If we don’t act on it, our earth and our existence could be destroyed. This is why:

More people cause more use of resources. It causes meat to be in higher demand which means animals would be bred more and those animals release methane into the air. Methane is a gas that is harmful to the earth's atmosphere, it is worse than carbon dioxide by a lot. We also have a higher demand for other resources. China has a 1 child law which only allows families to have 1 child to slow down this issue. Habitats get destroyed for land and areas for humans to use. We forget about any living animals and their homes.

The higher the population the more motorized vehicles we use. These vehicles are bad for the environment and the more people there are, the more cars we use. We also have to think about the manufacturing of these cars. As our population grows we must also make more space to create these ways of transport and area to use the transport. The use of vehicles produces around 20% of New Zealand's greenhouse gases each year. There is also the issue that if we switch to electric cars industries that sell some type of gas could go out of business affecting the economy.

There is also the creation of homes and buildings made of wood or structured by wood. We have to cut down trees to get this wood and less trees means the destruction of habitats. Trees also use carbon dioxide to produce oxygen so they help to reduce carbon emissions. Trees are also used to make paper and money. As money is our currency we need a lot of it to keep a stable economy for all 7.8 billion people. We need trees to live and so do animals.

So we need to start fixing this problem. This problem could kill us, animals and the planet. Overpopulation will use all our resources before we can make or find sustainable replacements. We need to act on this problem and we need to act now before the population grows too large and earth has no resources or space to sustain everyone. Finding or creating more sustainable practices and creating zoned areas for certain things and not going past those areas may help.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

12/10/20

This is my first go at paragraph writing.

We are using to many resources and they aren't unlimited.

If we dont fix this issue soon we will run out of these resources which could lead to human extinction. Or we could kill the earth by destorying the nutrients that runs our ecosystem.

In places like India water is already an issue and so are many other resources. Resources will run out if they do not reproduce in some way meaning we could run out of those resources. We must always have access to basic resources and at the rate we are using them future generations won't have them.

The water issue in India has mutiple problems. A lot of the fresh water has already been used and most water in India is now dirty. Those that clean the water sell it for their gain. Their is a lack of the equipment to clean water or build some type or water collector, the resources to build either are unobtainable to the common person in India.

We must teach people about this and try to get our population to use as little resources as possible. Especially those resources that are harmful to our enviroment and that aren't sustainable.

We need to be sustainable and smart with our cosumption of resources.

Today we watched 360 videos about National geography.

I watched a few videos.

1 that really caught my attention was about trash on mount Everest. There was no waste managment on mount Everest. A group called the spcc was formed to fix this problem.  That trash is then either burned or buried. They are not only cleaning up but telling people about this problem and asking for their support. At first local people around the area cleaned up and that was what formed the spcc.

This is a link to the video as well as a playlist of many other 360 videos.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BK79eI71qxU&list=PLivjPDlt6ApRq22sn082ZCC9893XtV8xc&index=10

I also watched a video surronding pirate birds. It talked about how they are dying and losing habbitat due to climate change. The polar ice caps melting are destorying the island they live on.

Sustainability

Environmental Sustainability:

Sustaining the natural embodiment of earth. Using resources that can be reused not only now but in the future and making sure this won't kill the planet in anyway, shape or form.

Social Sustainability:

Social sustainability is creating equal rights surrounding everyone no matter size, height, skin color, gender or anything.

Economic Sustainability:

Making sure the art of trade is fair and has no way of being counterfeited. Also making sure the rate at which we take objects and or resources is sustainable and won't run out in the future to come.

Sustainable Development:

The research and construction of sustainable resources and energy. Also the switch from fossil fuels and other harmful objects, items and resources currently in use.

Definition

Meaning

Equitable:

Fair split of resources between a population.

Resources are shared and provided equally between social groups.

Viable:

Having access to resources and using them in a smart way to insure you have them in the future as well.

The environment must be used in a way that provides for ongoing economic needs

Bearable:

Both the user and resource or product must be able to withstand each other.

Society’s use of the environment must not be destructive.

Below is my understanding of my sustainability and how things effect the enviroment.
Things highlighted in green are good for the enviroment sustainability.
Orange is things that have neither a positive or negative effect.
Red is things getting worse for the enviroment.

A link to the WHO (world health orginazation) around poluente gasses produced by industrial areas.
I will be learning about this for a few weeks I believe.

The marketing mix (place) Business studies

We are currently making our poster bright and really well contrasted to draw attention to us and our product.

Our product will be produced and sold at schoolon market day whcich means we are a direct channel.

My business makes the product and then sells them directly to the consumer. We are the manufacturer in this situation. We will make the product and sell it.

Our product will be made at our school. We have no need for a specific space at school as we have no need for a power supply or anything like that. A good location for this could be inside or somewhere that is sheltered from wind. However somewhere that will have a large amount of people around. We are aware that our product isn't a need of any sort so we will make our selling area will stick out using bright colours and large easy to read posters. As far as I know we have no competiton for market day. Which means our product isn't the most popular of ideas. However no one else is able to make profit for this idea.

Coraline notes-Film studies (hurumanu 2)

opening scene: A doll turned into another doll which looks like Coraline (main character). We see this is done by the other mother at the end of the movie by a hand reveal.

Camera shots/angles. Close ups (to signify some importance of the details on the doll). No wide shots (so we never see the entire room to to keep things hidden).

Music/theme. Airy, scary, suspenseful. Fake langauge to made seem innocent and so there is no focus on the words however keeping a slight creep factor. Only word that could be heard is dreaming as the world the other mother is in is a dream. Soothing/calmish music.

Colour/vibrancy: Aged, old, worn down, green/cream, dark, worn down .

Lighting: Artificial lighting (lamp), Natural light slourced by moon, dim/darker lighting to give an odd/ubnormal feel caused by moon as it is night.

Setting/reality world: Feels old, faded pink, abandoned, run down, peeled paint, dead enviroment and natural forms. Weather is wet, cold, grey, misty.

Camera shots/angles: wide angles- shows entire house in context/ showing our main set peice.

Music: Background noises. Diegteic sounds noise that is cuased naturally/no music.

Colour: dark, muted, dim, spooky, aged, attacked by nature.

Lighting: Sun is providing light however it is coming through clouds creating white/grey colour. This makes it unpleasant.

Grey muted colour. Coraline being the only provide of light colours and music comes back as she seems to be the only happiness. Something spooks Coraline and the msuic then speeds up and there is a high angle making her seem weak. The light changes darker. Then music stops after suspense then a cat appears. And all is calm.

Then lightning hits and a guy above her is shown. They use a low angle shot to make Coraline look weak and this guy looks strong or powerful. World still looks dark airy. The house/main set is looked at from a distance showing no civilazation meaning no help can be located. Close-up and tilt shot changing setting from outside to inside.

House is a creamy colour, old, and unloved. The parents are portraied as tired, overworked, not giving Coraline attention which gives reason for wanting another world. Diegetic sounds again. Carpet and things making her seem weak in that house and lifeless.

The marketing mix (price)

This is my business studies work on the price of a product as part of the marketing mix. This is my view on price around the marketing mix. And how my business price is set.
